03/03/2023The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed and submitted the Project of the Industry and Trade Digital Transformation Ecosystem, intending to create a business community; contribute to changing management thinking and awareness of enterprises in the digital transformation era, towards sustainable business development on the digital platform.
Pioneering businesses
Digital transformation is quite common in large enterprises in our country. At the end of 2020, Hoa Phat Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CMC Technology Group to build a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, including three phases: building a technology and governance foundation; effective digitization for operations; Comprehensive data management.
The digital transformation in operations allows the creation of new interactive channels between agents and Hoa Phat to automate the ordering process, track goods delivery and improve customer experience.
Supporting businesses in digital transformation
With Vietnam Chemical Corporation, the Party Committee of the Group has issued a program to implement digital transformation to 2025, with an orientation to 2030. Accordingly, by the end of this year, 100% of the corporation’s units will apply digital technology in management, and digitize 80% of databases, business processes, and production and business processes. By 2025, 70% of customer-related operations will be carried out in the digital environment, and 100% of units under the Group of e-commerce applications in business.
Many units of the Group are at the forefront of digital transformation, such as Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company until now. In the past year, the Company has focused on maintaining key products like truck tires, while implementing step-by-step digital transformation in the stages of product management, then completing the construction of a digital office. It is expected that by 2025, it will synchronously digitize the management and production processes of the whole Company.
Recently, Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company – Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam, cooperated with MISA to implement a project to automate the entire process from searching, and accessing to after-sale care; and promptly serve and support all customers from distributors, agents, and farmers to visitors brought by marketing.
Saigon Newport, one of the 20 largest container terminals in the world, has a throughput volume that accounts for 55% of the national import-export market share. Senior Colonel Bui Van Quy, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, affirmed that one of the strengths for Saigon Newport to maintain its 20th position globally is to develop a smart port model, real-time digital connectivity, such as the electronification of documents, payment settlement, procedures for connecting with stakeholders in the supply chain and proceed to partially build automatic ports and connect and share information with member ports of the Southeast Asian Seaport Association, members of the Asia-Pacific Seaport Network.
As can be seen, the problems of technology, implementation of digital transformation, and intelligent production are pioneered by large enterprises. The majority of small and medium-sized enterprises still face difficulties in digital transformation. According to a survey by the Department of Business Development, 60.1% of enterprises face difficulties in investment costs and digital technology application; 52.3% difficulties in changing business habits and practices as well as lack of internal human resources to apply digital technology; 45.4% lack of digital technology infrastructure; 40.4% lack of information about digital technology; 38.5% difficulty in integrating digital technology solutions; over 32% lack the commitment and understanding of the board of directors, business management…
Therefore, in the coming period, to improve the productivity and competitiveness of key industries, fields, and industrial products, Industry and Trade will deploy focused science and technology activities in the direction of supporting and promoting enterprises to apply modern production and management technologies associated with digital transformation and smart production development.
To accelerate the implementation of tasks and solutions to restructure the Industry and Trade industry based on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; at the same time supporting the business community, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed and submitted the Project of Industry and Trade Digital Transformation Ecosystem, to create a business community; contribute to changing the thinking and management awareness of enterprises in the digital transformation, towards sustainable business development on the digital platform.
The Industry and Trade digital transformation ecosystem will be an effective connection channel between reputable service and solution providers in digital transformation and enterprises producing and distributing goods in the Industry and Trade industry and connecting resources to build and put into trial operation the Ecosystem in Quarter I-II/2023 (it is expected that the Industry and Trade Digital Transformation Ecosystem will be officially launched in Quarter II/2023).
