Get a taste of competition!

Vietnam Welding Skills Competition (VWSC) is making a strong return to MTA VIETNAM this year since its inception in 2013. Coordinated by the American Welding Society, VWSC is truly an ideal place for attendees looking to hone their competitive edge and welding expertise, as well as to network with experts and peers in the welding community.

The competition offers an opportunity to go head-to-head in an intense, action-packed series of welding challenges with the nation’s most-skilled professional welders. It consists of two different competing categories: a written examination and a practical test, where each competitor is required to demonstrate their competence to read plans, interpret welding symbols and display their mastery of the manual welding processes and procedures. Participants will be competing as both individuals and teams, with awards being handed out for both aspects.

VWSC will take place on Tuesday, 4 July 2017 and the winners will be announced at 16:30pm on the same day.

A platform to enhance specialized knowledge

Supplementing the bustling hive of activity on the exhibition floor, a full roster of educational sessions, technical seminars and workshops will also be hosted during the show. Featuring an impressive line-up of speakers from local and regional organizations, these sessions provide delegates with insights into precision engineering and manufacturing, industry trends as well as best practices.

Hosted by Lean Six Sigma Network, the seminar entitled “Industry 4.0 and the Fourth Industrial Revolution” looks to gain deep insights into the themes of Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the latest digitalization trends. High-profile keynote speakers include: Dr. Le Hoai Quoc Truong – President of Saigon Hi-Tech Park and Dr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - Vice President of HCMC Association of Mechanical Engineering (HAME).

The conference program held alongside MTA VIETNAM2017 also includes symposiums of Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory (MESLAB), American Welding Society (AWS), and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), where delegates can seek updates on the best-of-breed technologies as well as innovations and developments surrounding the precision engineering industry.
