The 2017 edition marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of MTA VIETNAM exhibition series - attracting a strong participation of 425 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions, together with 11 international group pavilions.
Ho Chi Minh City, 04 July 2017 – The International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition – MTA VIETNAM2017 (MTV2017) gets off to a rousing start from 4 to 7 July 2017 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC). Since its inception in 2005, MTA VIETNAM has consistently grown in size and status, and is now regarded as the premier technology marketplace and networking platform for the ever-evolving Vietnamese manufacturing sector, where industry players congregate to experience new technologies, forge new business partnerships, and network with the industry at large.
Encompassing a total of 12,000 square meters of exhibition space, the 15th edition features a multinational selection of the state-of-the-art technologies, equipment and solutions for all stages of the manufacturing value chain, housing 425 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions. The exhibition presents an ideal gateway for international suppliers looking to expand into the expanding Vietnamese industrial market, as indicated by an overwhelming percentage of overseas exhibitors (roughly 77 per cent), notable among whom include: Amada, Bystronic, Blum, DMG Mori, Han's Laser, Hurco, Makino, Marposs, Mazak, Nikon, Renishaw, Sandvik, Sodick, TRUMPF, YG-1 and numerous others.
Aside from the impressive presence of established international brands, MTV2017 also welcomes a strong lineup of locally-based manufacturers and vendors such as: Creatz3D, Cybertech, Daviteq, OLAS, DKSH, Growell, T.A.T Machinery, Tinh Ha, Van Su Loi, VPIC, Weldtec, to name a few. Homegrown companies can leverage on this opportune showcase to reach overseas exhibitors directly, broaden business contacts and map the future of smart manufacturing.
Impressive group pavilions at the exhibition
MTA VIETNAM, over the years, has amassed strong support and endorsement from not only businesses, but also from local and international government organizations and associations. This year is no different, as the event once again is strongly backed by various industry bodies and trade associations across the region, such as Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), Korea Trade-Investment Agency (KOTRA), Korea Tools Industry Cooperative (KOTIC), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Singapore Precision Engineering & Technology Association (SPETA), Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), and many more.
These highly-regarded associations continue to organize group pavilions to the exhibition. This year, the group pavilions are from major economic and industrial powerhouses such as Germany, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, showcasing their technological capabilities designed to virtually meet every need in the manufacturing processes.
A strong spread of top-notch Japanese technologies
Japan is among the fastest growing investor countries in the fields of precision engineering and manufacturing. According to the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in the first five months of 2017, Vietnam enticed more than $12,13 billion in FDI where Japanese companies invested $1,94 billion (accounting for 16 per cent of the total FDI capital), turning the Northeast Asian country to be the second biggest investor in Vietnam.
Against this healthy backdrop, the number of Japanese exhibitors at MTA VIETNAM has remarkably increased over the past few years. A stalwart group, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is once again back this edition, with a contingent comprising 29 companies specializing in metalcutting, metalforming, metrology, cutting tools and tooling systems. JETRO group exhibitors such as Asada, Enomoto, Kira, Fuji Tool, Maxpull, Nakano, Sakagami and Thermal are keen on the opportunities to showcase top-quality machine tools and services that are especially suitable for the Vietnam’s increasingly lucrative market.
In addition to the JETRO-led pavilion, the Japanese presence at MTV2017 is bolstered by a host of renowned brand names such as Amada, Big Daishowa, Makino, Mazak, Metrol, MST, Nikon, NT Tool, Sodick, and many more.
A platform to access expert guidance, share knowledge and exchange ideas
Adding to the excitement onsite, a string of educational seminars and workshops are staged concurrently, providing industry players with in-depth knowledge, market insights and the latest intelligence into the evolving manufacturing industry landscape.
The seminar sessions hosted by Lean Six Sigma Network and Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory (MES LAB) are expected to gather many industry experts and professionals under one roof to impart technological updates, discuss pertinent issues and challenges available in the new era of manufacturing intelligence and Industry 4.0.
Taiwan Trade Center Inc. (TAITRA) is conducting a technical seminar titled “Taiwan Machine Tools Industry – Shaping the World”. The seminar is geared to spotlight the latest techniques and capabilities in the Taiwan’s manufacturing sector, presenting an opportunity for local enterprises to convene and exchange ideas with like-minded individuals and influential leaders from Taiwan. Taiwanese technology suppliers are also now expanding to provide complete factory systems integration solutions to the Vietnamese industrial market.
Various activities facilitate business interaction
MTV2017 welcomes the return of the Vietnam Welding Competition since its inception in 2013 and after a one year hiatus. Co-organized by CIMA Co. Ltd, the competition offers a premier platform for participants to compete, experience, test theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and communicate with peers from across the welding and metal fabrication communities.
“This exhibition supports the fundamental base industry which manufacturing and industrial production relies on – the incredible spread of technologies required for metal fabrication, precision engineering and corresponding downstream process and services. To have MTA Vietnam grow every year reflects the incredible journey Vietnam is currently embarking on – industrialization. In tandem with the influx of foreign direct investments in manufacturing and industrial production, we expect to see more years of robust growth as we continually feed the local industry with new technologies and processes to enable manufacturers and producers to operate more efficient plants and factories across Vietnam and Indochina” shared Mr. BT Tee – General Manager of UBM VES, the Organizer of MTV2017.
“The strong convergence of market leading brands and major industry players at MTV2017 is a firm reflection of the show’s industry stature, as well as its ability to provide a unique platform whereby buyers and suppliers meet, share technological know-how and drive industry development” he concluded.
MTV2017 expects to attract more than 10,000 trade visitors across Vietnam and the region. MTA VIETNAM is incorporated with Automation Vietnam, Metrology Vietnam, ToolTec Vietnam and WeldTech Vietnam.
